As mentioned previously, customized pre-packaging is our specialty. We have a number of customers that have need of smaller-than-shipper size cases of produce. Thus, we take a case of 140 lemons and make a 12-pack for an end-user that only needs that amount. Through this process, all of the produce is naturally graded, so the customer receives a 100% usable product. Again, our location near the Northern Ohio Food Terminal market is beneficial to the customer in that he’s assured of getting the freshest, best quality produce available.
PPI is also this Cleveland’s largest receiver of fresh chile peppers, specializing in variety packs for retail use. These variety packs are hand-graded and have approximately two pounds of four types of specialty peppers per case, helping to minimize shrink. We also offer all of our specialty peppers in either 5 or 10 lb. cases.
